Excelsior Springs Golf Course opened in 1915. The course was designed by Tom Bendelow. Smiley Bell and Chet Mendenhall have done redesigns on this course.
The original 36 hole complex dropped to 18 holes during the Great Depression. Those original 18 holes are still in place today. This Championship 6603 yard par 72, was designed by renowned golf course architect, Tom Bendelow, who also designed Medinah Country Club, home of the 1949, 1975, & 1990 U.S.Opens as well as Olympia Fields Country Club, where they hosted the 1928 and 2003 U.S.Open and two past PGA Championships.
This English-style course features rolling hills and valleys, so expect many uneven lies. There are several grass bunkers on the course, but no sand bunkers. Water hazards come into play on six holes.

I love the unique challenge of this course. Limited water, no sand, but it can come up & bite you. Greens are tough.
